License Activation¶
Account Credentials¶
As part of your subscription or perpetual license purchase you have been provided with an account. Your account credentials consist of your e-mail address as provided at the time of purchase and your password. These credentials are required to activate licenses on your computer.
Subscription License¶
A subscription license is valid for all UA Office Link modules. To activate your subscription license, navigate to “Configuration / Licenses” in the UA Office Link desktop application, enter your account credentials and tick the “I have a subscription license” check box.

Click on the Activate button to activate the subscription. Note that an Internet connection is required for license activation and the computer will also need to connect to the Internet in regular intervals to keep the subscription license activated.
After successful activation the subscription is shown as activated.

Click on the Deactivation button to deactivate the subscription again for this computer. You are then free to move the subscription to a different computer.
If you have multiple subscriptions then you may install and activate UA Office Link on the corresponding number of computers.
Perpetual Licenses¶
Perpetual licenses are activated per module. Untick the “I have a subscription license” check box to see the list of installed modules available for activation.
Online Activation¶
If the computer is connected to the Internet then you can use online activation. Check all modules you wish to activate before clicking the Activate button.

Similarly, to deactivate modules, check all modules to deactivate and click the Deactivate button.

Offline Activation¶
If the computer you want to activate a license for is not connected to the Internet then you can use offline activation. In summary, the steps for offline activation are as follows, with computer ‘A’ being offline and computer ‘B’ being connected to the Internet.
- Create activation code ‘A’ for selected modules on computer ‘A’.
- Take activation code ‘A’ to computer ‘B’
- Activate licenses on computer ‘B’ and in return receive activation code ‘B’.
- Return to computer ‘A’ with activation code ‘B’ to activate modules.
The following is a step-by-step guide through the process. To begin, select the modules you want to activate and then click the Offline Activation button to start the process.

Create an activation code ‘A’ on computer ‘A’ that is offline
Select option “I want to activate selected modules …” and click Next:

Select option “I need an activation code …” and click Next:

Copy the shown activation code ‘A’ and save it into a file to take to an Internet-connected computer ‘B’:

The activation code contains information about the modules to activate and an anonymized identifier of the computer (a hash generated from system properties).
Go to Internet-connected computer ‘B’ to continue
Install UA Office Link on Internet-connected computer ‘B’ (no module installation is required) and start the Offline Activation process. This time, select option “I have an activation code…” to begin with.

Click Next and paste activation code ‘A’ from the earlier step:

After successful activation, activation code ‘B’ for the offline-computer ‘A’ is shown:

Save activation code ‘B’ and take it back to computer ‘A’.
Return to the target computer ‘A’ with activation code ‘B’
On computer ‘A’, select all modules that you want to activate and then start the Offline Activation process again. Select option “I want to activate selected modules …” and move to the next step:

In the next step, select option “I have an activation code …” and click Next:

Paste activation code ‘B’ into the text field and move to the next and final step.

Selected modules will now be activated on computer ‘A’:

Offline Deactivation¶
Offline deactivation follows a procedure similar to offline activation, however, you do not need to take a deactivation code back to the offline computer. With computer ‘A’ being offline and with computer ‘B’ being connected to the Internet the steps are therefore:
- Create a deactivation code for selected modules on computer ‘A’.
- Take the deactivation code to computer ‘B’
- Deactivate licenses on computer ‘B’
Deactivation is necessary if you plan to activate licenses on a different computer. Select modules you wish to deactivate and press the Offline Deactivation button to begin.

Create a deactivation code on computer ‘A’ that is offline
Select the “I want to deactivate selected modules …” and click Next:

Confirm that you need a deactivation code by clicking the Next button:

Copy the shown deactivation code and save it into a file to take to an Internet-connected computer ‘B’:

The deactivation code contains information about the modules to deactivate and an anonymized identifier of the computer (a hash generated from system properties).
Go to Internet-connected computer ‘B’ to continue
Install UA Office Link on Internet-connected computer ‘B’ (no module installation is required) and start the Offline Deactivation process. Select option “I have a deactivation code…” and move to the next step.

Paste the deactivation code from the earlier step into the provided text field and click Next:

This completes the offline deactivation:
